If you're looking for hands-on ways to help people impacted by food insecurity, consider volunteering with JUF TOV Volunteer Network. Opportunities include:
Serve a meal at the JUF Uptown Cafe-one of Chicago's first kosher anti-hunger programs for those in need. In addition to providing hot meals in a restaurant-style setting, the JUF Uptown Cafe program brings dignity and hope to people in need. The JUF Uptown Cafe feeds Jews and non-Jews alike and is open three days a week for dinner and on Sundays for brunch. For more information visit: juf.org/tov/uptown-cafe.aspx.
Browse the Mitzvah Mania calendar to find a variety of one-time volunteer opportunities throughout Chicagoland. These projects are the perfect way for individuals, families, and groups to perform the mitzvah of tikkun olam without a long-term obligation. New projects are constantly being added.
